Minnesota Dwarf Trout Lily

Erythronium propullans

The Minnesota dwarf trout lily is small spring flower found only in Minnesota. It is state and federally endangered and is restricted to just three counties in Minnesota. This plant is unique in that it is unable to produce viable seed and exclusively reproduces vegetatively. The Arboretum supports conservation of the species by maintaining plants in living collections, with the first collection established in 1960.
